DAY 1 – LISBON | COSTA DA CAPARICA
Meet and greet at Lisbon airport. Transfer to INATEL Costa da Caparica Hotel, welcome drink, dinner and accommodation.
DAY 2 – LISBON
Visit to Belém, a district full of monuments which testify to the portuguese overseas expansion. We continue to Estrela, where we will visit the Royal Basilic, a baroque and neoclassical building built in 1790. We proceed downtown for lunch and a visit to the Saint Domingos Church, a temple that survived the great earthquake of 1755 and the fire of 1954. Forever linked to the Inquisition, it is also famous for housing relics used by the young shepherds during the sun miracle, in Fátima. We continue to the cathedral, the oldest church in the city (1147). Time to walk through the picturesque streets of the Castelo District. At night, dinner at a typical Fado house. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.
DAY 3 – COSTA DA CAPARICA | MAFRA | ÓBIDOS | FÁTIMA
Departure to the town of Mafra. Visit to the impressive National Palace and convent, built in an opulent era of the Portuguese history as a result of the massive influx of Brazilian gold. One cannot miss the precious library, the most important monastic-royal library in Portugal. After Lunch in Foz do Arelho we will visit Óbidos. Strolling through the narrow streets and quaint squares is the best way to know this medieval walled village. We continue to Fátima visiting its sanctuary, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Marian devotion. Visit to the new Basilica or the Holy Trinity Church. After dinner, you can participate in the candlelight procession (12th/13th may and 12th/13th October). Accommodation
DAY 4 – FÁTIMA | ALCOBAÇA | NAZARÉ | FÁTIMA
In the morning, guided tour to the apparitions’ sites, the house of Jacinta and Francisco, Lucia’s house and the museum of Aljustrel. After lunch, we continue to Alcobaça Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most notable examples of Cistercian architecture in Europe. Here one can find the stunning tombs of King Pedro and Lady Inês de Castro, the protagonists of a tragic love story. The tour continues to Nazaré, a typical fishing village, surrounded by cliffs. Visit Our Lady of Nazaré Sanctuary, an imposing Marian shrine that memorializes an ancient miracle that occurred under the intercession of the Virgin Mary. Return to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 5 – FÁTIMA | COIMBRA | SÃO PEDRO DO SUL
Morning visit to the Convent of Christ in Tomar, UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch we continue to Coimbra, the students’ city. Visit the University, one of the oldest in the world with its extremely valuable library, the Joanina Library, Saint Michael’s Chapel, and the Sala dos Capelos (Graduate’s Hall). Visit the Sta. Cruz Monastery, founded in 1131 and an important centre for theological studies where Saint Anthony and the poet Luís de Camões studied. It houses the tombs of Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal. Dinner and accommodation in INATEL Palace São Pedro do Sul Hotel ****.
DAY 6 - S. PEDRO DO SUL | LAMEGO | VILA REAL | AMARANTE | VILA NOVA DE CERVEIRA
Morning tour to the town of Lamego to visit Nossa Senhora dos Remédios Sanctuary (our Lady of medicines), located on the top of a beautiful staircase (686 steps). We move on to the historical center, where the Cathedral is located, a temple that integrates styles from different eras. After lunch, we continue to Vila Real and the impressive Mateus Palace, one of the finest examples of baroque architecture in Portugal. We proceed to visit to the beautiful S. Gonçalo’s Convent, in Amarante. Dinner and accommodation in INATEL Cerveira Hotel ****.
DAY 7 – V. N. CERVEIRA | BRAGA | RIO CALDO | V.N. CERVEIRA
Morning departure to Braga to visit the historical center where the oldest Cathedral in the country can be found. Perched on a hilltop on the outskirts of Braga, Bom Jesus do Monte and Our Lady of Sameiro sanctuaries await a visit. Lunch. Departure towards Gerês National Park to visit S. Bento da Porta Aberta Sanctuary, the Benedictines' preferred place of worship. Dinner and accommodation in INATEL Cerveira Hotel ****.
DAY 8 – V. N. CERVEIRA |SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA| VALENÇA | VN CERVEIRA
Morning visit to Santiago de Compostela, classified World Heritage Site by UNESCO and considered “the spiritual reserve of the West”. The city became one of the most important religious and pilgrimage centres after finding the tomb of the apostle St. James in the 9th century. Stroll through the narrow cobble streets. Lunch. Departure to Valença, a fortified frontier town, located by the Minho River. Dinner and accommodation in INATEL Cerveira Hotel ****.
DAY 9 – V. N. CERVEIRA | CAMINHA | VIANA DO CASTELO | OPORTO
Departure towards the beautiful village of Caminha for a short visit. Following the coast and passing by Moledo and Vila Praia de Âncora, we arrive to Viana do Castelo, known for the richly embroidered festival dresses and the gold and filigree jewelry. Before lunch, we climb the Santa Luzia hill and enjoy fantastic panoramic views over the region. Visit the sanctuary and the Basilic. We proceed to Oporto to an afternoon visit. Dinner and accommodation in Oporto.
DAY 10 – OPORTO
Full day in Oporto, the second largest city in the country. Walking through the narrow and typical streets will allow you to discover the historical center, which was declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. Special focus to São Francisco Church, the stock exchange palace and the Cathedral. Lunch on board a cruise in the Douro River. This is a unique opportunity to see the city and its picturesque neighborhoods from a different perspective. We will finish the tour with a visit to the famous Porto wine cellars. Wine tasting. Rest of the day free. Dinner and accommodation in Oporto.
DAY 11 – END OF TOUR – RETURN
Transfer from the hotel to Oporto airport. Assistance with check- in procedures. End of tour.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
These general conditions are indicative and may be complemented with the detailed travel program and its particular conditions.
ORGANIZATION
The tourism services are organized by INATEL Turismo (a registered trademark of INATEL Foundation), headquartered at Calçada de Sant’Ana 180, 1169-062 Lisbon, registered at Turismo de Portugal IP., under number 2954 (RNAVT).
RESPONSIBILITY
Fundação INATEL is responsible for the correct performance of all services included in the travel contract.
INATEL is not responsible for errors in the booking that are attributed to the participant or that are caused by unavoidable and exceptional circumstances.
RESERVATIONS
Reservations must be made in writing to tourism@inatel.pt, including all the necessary information for the tour program (dates, typology of hotel and rooms, etc.).
Reservations are only considered confirmed after written acceptance and a deposit guarantee.
INSURANCE
INATEL's liability is guaranteed by civil insurance, according to the portuguese legislation.
We recommend that all participants have a personal accident insurance that can protect against any accidents. If necessary, INATEL can provide available insurance options.
PRICES
The prices informed with the proposal have a validity of acceptance. They may be changed until the final confirmation of the services and/or for reasons attributed to force majeure circumstances.
PAYMENTS
In general terms, the applicable payment policy is as follows:
• With service confirmation – 25% deposit
• Full payment – before participants arrival
• The payment policy can be changed depending on the conditions of the suppliers

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
The cancellation policy is informed on the detailed proposal, but in general terms the following applies:
• Cancellations, total or partial, will only be accepted in writing;
• No cancellation charges apply for services cancelled 45 days prior to service, except non-refundable deposits;
• Cancellations with less than 45 days may incur in cancellation fees, to be determined on a case-by-case basis. INATEL will make every effort to minimize cancellation expenses.
HOTELS
The category of hotels complies with the Portuguese legislation. Some INATEL hotels are not classified as hotels, being designated as “holiday centres”.
CLAIMS
Any non-compliance in the execution of a service included in the travel contract must be presented in writing to INATEL, as soon as such non-compliance occurs, and the participant must inform the suppliers of those services during the trip, demanding from them the respective documents proving the occurrence.
ASSISTANCE
INATEL has an assistance telephone to support group travel.
In case of difficulties for the participant, or when, for reasons that are not attributed to him, he cannot complete the tour, INATEL will provide the necessary assistance, under the terms of the law, and may charge, if justified, a fee to the participant in the amount of costs incurred.
